PAIN!!!!!!

This so sucks! Rather than going straight to the gym, I had decided to look for some CDs first. I got down onto my knees to search the pile I burned a few years ago and suddenly felt this horribly shooting pain on my left side spreading to my right. I'm still in pain and it makes me feel so old. (and worried!) It's like this horrific pain shooting from my lower back down to my knee and whenever I try to do anything it just gets worse. ;;_;;

I suspect I am not going to the gym after all.

Maybe a shower will help.

Me too! I tried resting on the floor and now have an ice pack. I hope you never experience this sort of pain, it's just awful.

Urg, that really sucks! If it keeps up, maybe you should go to the doctor to ask about it... I've been having a lot of trouble with my knees ever since I started exercising...figures, being super lazy I never had a single problem! Anyway, if the icepack doesn't do anything, maybe try a water bottle??? Heat works for cramps, anyway...

I will see a doctor if I still have pain on Monday. It only happened around 10:10 am this morning so it's possible I just strained something and it is not serious, I hope. ~.~ It's just painful. I finally thought to try some ibuprofen XD; I'm hoping a nap or a shower in a bit might help some. I've had upper back pain before and usually it takes at least 24 hours for it to go away. ~.~

My knees can't do really long downhills anymore without starting to shake towards the end. I discovered this in Japan XD;;

OH! I am going to send something small to Jamie and Eda, do you want anything? >>;

If I pinched something how long does it take to feel better and how do I know?

I am feeling like a moron because maybe if I had moved the stupid stuff on the floor instead of putting my knee on that it wouldn't have happened and I could go to the gym rather than having a hard time just walking around my house ~.~

*sighs*

Hm... it should be maybe a day or so... I pinched a nerve in my neck and I think it took about a day for it to go away. A heating pad really helped, for that, so if ice isn't doing it then definitely try heat.

Aww, I understand. It's always the little decisions that end up having big consequences! My mom hurt her knee once like that, actually, and she never did figure out what she did.

But in any case, I hope it's nothing and that it feels better soon! Sometimes muscle strain can be really painful, but at least it's not a big deal <3

I might just eventually take a nap lol

<3 Hopefully it is just a pinch or a strain, and that should go away in a day or so~ Painkillers are also good, yes. :D

Heh, naps are good for recovery. I say you should just nap and watch TV for the rest of the day!

Oh gosh, Rachel, please go see a doctor. :\ My mother had a similar described pain for 7 months and ignored it, hoping it would go away. She ended up needing 2 very painful spinal surgeries, then spent a month in the hospital and is now relearning how to walk because she let it get so bad.

I hope it's nothing, but taking precaution won't hurt anything. *hugs*

Well, I wouldn't let it go that long because I can't take being incapacitated. I think if I still have a lot of pain on Monday I will go to the doctor's. For now it's more just annoying and frustrating. The ibuprofen did seem to help some.

The problem is it seems a lot of people get lower back pain sometimes and it's hard to know when it is serious. But if it feels anything like this on Monday I am so going in! It is slowly feeling better over time. I just managed to ruin my plans for the day with this. ~.~

Gyah, I'm totally with you on back pain making me feel old. I was kind of out of commission last weekend for that sort of thing. I really need to buckle down and get a new mattress.

*hugs* Hot showers always help me with pain, especially if it's a muscle strain or something similar. I hope it goes away quickly. *more hugs*

Memorial Day is just inconveniently early this year, I keep thinking it's next weekend. >__<;

I took a super long hot shower and it did help some, I'm just still achey and it sucks because I wanted to go to the gym today ~.~ I was all excited about what I was going to do today and instead I ended up mostly sitting on the couch lol

I don't know, I just know I went to go look for some YuGiOh episodes I burned to DVD years ago and got onto my knees and suddenly I had this awful shooting pain. ;;_;;

The shower and the ibuprofen helped some, but it mean no going to the gym and I've sort of been stuck sitting on the couch today. ~.~ I'm hoping it is less painful this week end since I want to go to the gym again and be outside. ;;_;;

BTW I still want your mailing addy so that post Memorial Day I can mail out something to you, though it won't be until post Memorial Day. *hugs*

Yeah, I definitely will, though I also might just make an appointment to see one for a check up now. ~.~

I don't hurt as much as I did when I hurt myself 24 hours ago, but I'm also definitely not up to speed today. I suspect I am spending the day resting. ~.~

This is one of those times I am thankful I own a laptop.

OMG! I just read your new post and went "Woah, what. WHAT?!" I totally missed this somehow! D: I feel like such a shitty friend. lol

That really sucks, but oddly enough, I had almost the same thing happen to me last week or so. I somehow messed myself up at work and had to leave early. Sharp, shooting, radiating pain from my lower back (very low, like, by my tail bone?) and down my legs to my knees. Did we somehow manage to injure ourselves the same way? lol I was laid up for days. It really sucked. Lots of pain killers and almost constant heat on it and tons of just laying there doing nothing got me better though.

Hopefully yours will heal up quick. :C *hugs*

Gah!! *hugs* I'm so sorry you went through the same thing last week as well!!!! I hope you're feeling much better! (and don't feel bad I didn't know you'd gone through the same thing and I thought I was being good about staying uptodate.)

That is exactly where my pain is. I know I knelt funny, cause I hadn't even lifted anything yet!

At the moment, the radiating pain is mostly gone, the worst is trying to get into bed. It just hurts trying to get in and then get to my side. Once i am in bed, i have my friend the heating pad lol

It was worse yesterday and it is definitely improving. It started a little slow but I stretched a bit and then by afternoon it felt a lot better though I still can't really walk well.

GAH, I so hate this, I hope it gets better in only a few days, I have things to do!!!!! It makes me so thankful I own a laptop though.

I'm really horrible at updating. I should have, though! Then you could go. OMG THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO AKARI! lol

That's so uncanny we did the same damn thing. This is actually the second time it's happened to me. This last time all I did was pull on a box when it went OW. I lift tons of really heavy stuff every night, but all I did was lean over and tug on the corner of a box. oO The time before that, I was spraying some heads and all I did was lean over to pick them up and something in my back went TWANG. I really have no idea what I'm doing to keep injuring myself like that. So much pain when I didn't really do anything. I don't get it!

It took a couple days, but it did go away completely and I'm fine now. (Yes, trying to turn over in bed... ugh. X-x)

I'm really glad you're getting better. Especially since I know how bad it sucks. Just keep the heat on it as much as possible, is my advice. Since that was really the only thing I could find to make the pain lessen. I took loads of acetaminophen, but it really didn't do much at all for the pain. :\

*goes back to looking at your Japan pics* XD

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh, I am taking it slow, I just don't like not being able to do anything. I want to work on sales or at the very spend time walking around outside. I hate being stuck inside resting when the weather is so gorgeous. I would love to be bicycling. ~.~ *sighs*

Japan pictures make everything better, OK that's not true, Marik's Evil Council of Doom makes everything better XD;

It's so frustrating but it makes me feel a little better that its happened to someone else I know who is not my mother and who it actually went away with after a few days. >>;

I do feel less pain each day, it happened about 48 hours ago now, but I just hate being laid up. I find after a while if I am in the right position the pain fades, it's then when I want to get in a new one...

I might try stretching on the floor today post my shower.

With Eda and Jamie to LA or are you going elsewhere??? If you're coming to NY we should get together if you're here long enough! :D I could easily meet you in NYC and we could do something fun, if I thought for a while on something fun or umm you could pick something! I know a few amazing restaurants in NYC now though they are vegetarian. >>;; And Chelse Market has the most amazing cupcakes! <3

Actually, yeah, I am going over before Eda and Jamie leave to visit my family. So yeah, I'll be splitting the last week of June between Trenton and Manhattan, so yeah, let's meet! I don't know if you're usually free during the week but that would probably be best for me??? But yeah, I am up for anything. :Db Vegetarian restaurants sound good to me--every one I've been too has been quite tasty. (I am sad we couldn't go to Israeli here in Tokyo...it is amazing. Next time!)

Haha, I am unemployed, so week days are awesome. :D Friday is generally a little rough, but Mon-Thurs works well and I can do whichever works for you. I live about 35 minutes by train from Grand Central, so it's a not so bad commute. Yeah!!! I am excited, we can have fun in NYC. I admit, I don't go in so often so I only know so many fun things to do, so umm if you have any good ideas... I am up for it! :D

Usually I either shop or go to a Museum or try to see a show.

Wow, I'm so glad you're coming to NY :D I like Israeli, there is an amazing falafel place in Queens. I know 2 veggie places in Chelsea and one in the village. By Japanese standards they're relatively reasonable though not Sakaiyza (sp?) level.

I'm excited. :D my emails is (yuutafan)(AT)gmail make it look like an email addy >>; I can give you my home phone # and my keitai here. Usually try my home # first, and always leave a message cause if I don't recognize a # I tend to screen my calls. <<;; *hugs*

Awesome! I will mail you when I am not in the middle of avoiding writing mail in Japanese (lol lazy) but I am random.neff at gmail (or ee970 at LJ since this is a paid account since I am a whore for icons). So far as I know I don't have any plans for the time I am there so I am good to meet you whenever! I am up for museums (Moma?), shows (Avenue Q?), shopping, eating, people-watching, wandering, running people over and stealing their cars...well, maybe not so much the last one. But yeah, it's all good. 8Db I don't know if I'll have a cellphone, nor do I know either of my parents' phone numbers...gg me. But I do like leaving messages (especially long and rambling ones) so you will get one some time in the future! *yay meetups~*

ah and obviously, let me know if you need anything from rainy Japan (since it should be rainy season by then... ;o;)

Gah, sorry it took me so long to get back in touch with you. My back is still bothering me and I applied for a class action settlement for people who used credit cards on foreign transactions between 1996-2006 (want to guess who has a lot XD; )

Yeah I can receive messages via LJ to, but I always prefer real email. XD; I'm in the midst of trying to write GinoSuzu smut fics since someone has to do it!

I loved Avenue Q! It's so wrong and amusing (and actually touching) :D I'd see anything except Little Mermaid and Sping Awakening lol Neither appeals to me at all. I love museums and shopping and wandering and well everything lol Hopefully my back will be completely better by then, I'm supposed to start physically therapy now because the doctor thinks my back issues are related to my flexibility issues, wheeee

Long messages are good, just always leave one since I tend to screen calls or be lazy answering the phone but if I know it is you and I am hope I will of course pick up. :D Since I live in the US I of course have a cell, I just tend to use mine a lot more when I am renting it in Japan XD;;

There is one thing I really really want but I feel bad asking. There was one doujinshi I meant to get at SCC whch I forgot and I think it is availble at KAC/Mandarake/K-Books possibly the circle's website. I'm addicted to GinoSuzu and the series just likes me make it more.

that and the debate I am waging with someone who seems to insist one ought to only like "canon" pairings, she's already horrified I like SeiKam, just wait until she hears who I like Subaru with XD;;;; Subaru x Hikaru's Mom 4EVAR!!!
