vet appointment
Oct. 2nd, 2007 09:01 pmI'm worried about Nutmeg. For those who don't know, Nutmeg is my 11 year old tabby cat. About 7-8 months ago she went from being a little on the plump side to very thin. At first it seemed like Basil (her brother) was pushing her out of the way to get her food, but when we started paying more attention, she still left over part of her dinner each night. In May, she went to the vet and was put through a barrage of tests all of which came back as negative. Around the time the insulation people came, Nutmeg started to eat even less. This week end it went downhill even more and then yesterday morning she puked up all her food. In the evening she puked again, and since then has been vomiting some sort of spit up or watery mess every so often. There is no blood or bile in the vomit, so I don't think it is some sort of obstruction, but nonetheless it is horribly alarming. I made her a vet appointment for tomorrow but I'm really worried, particularly with my leaving for Japan Thursday morning and the fact that when I get back I'm visiting the in-laws for a week right after.
I really love my 3 kitties and I'm concerned something is seriously wrong with Nutmeg. Basil and Cookie are still eating like the little piggie cats I know and love and are a lot more active. Basil is slender but not frail looking like his sister. Cookie is a little plump still. Nutmeg has had a few problems before leading to vet stay overs and they never seem to be able to actually figure out what is wrong, which is even more disconcerting in a way. I so hope they can figure it out tomorrow and it's not life threatening. 11 isn't so old, but it's not so young either. *sighs*
