If I could escape..

So I've updated my interests and I'm so sad, hydrangea do not seem to have a LJ community dedicated to their cultivation, and I adore hydrangea. The colors are so bright and the one growing near my garage is actually gorgeous. ^^;;


I've been getting up super early (i.e. 6:30 am) so that I can spend an hour or so doing gardening before watering the plants the last 2 days. Yesterday was the veggies and today I planted my new lilac and some of the lilies of the valley I stole borrowed from my mother. Why should I pay for lilies of the valley when she has tons and they naturalize? I also trimmed the evergreen some more and pulled a ton of weeds. I'm a little nervous about the other weeds I need to pull because the dirt is on a slope and I feel like the weeds help keep it from moving onto my driveway. >>; I really need to plant something new there but I'm not sure what likes a slope and mostly full sun. I have 6 blue bells, but I think I am going to need more or something else, preferably something that naturalizes. I sort of want some bulbs, but those can't be planted yet so then I need to keep the ground protected and weed free until then.

For those curious, I am currently growing: 1 Tokyo Delight hydrangea (it has new baby leaves finally *tears of joy*) 1 Penny Mac hydrangea (which got staked today since it was going all over the ground) 1 General Vicom (which seems to be doing really well) and 1 Blushing Bride (which is getting a new flower). I am also growing a 1 President's Gray lilac assuming it survives. It's only been 1 day so I just can't say yet.

I want to order more seeds. It's something of a new little hobby for me.

1. Despite all my body fat, I get cold very easily and actually don't mind when my house is in the high 70's.

2. I'm terrible at finishing projects. I come up with all sorts of plans and ideas but then never follow through. I have several partially done websites, lots of fabric, lots of crap to sell, and now I'm starting on gardening. >>;

3. I hate driving a car. I try to avoid it whenever possible and having the radio play bad pop I like is the only thing that makes it bearable.

4. I gave up Barbie for Gi-Joe, because I was sick of all the Barbies fighting to try and date my few good looking male dolls where with Gi-Joe, I could have 30-40 Joes/Cobras fighting to date Baroness. I much preferred those odds.

5. I've been a vegetarian since 1991. BTW vegetarian==I do not eat any animals, but I do eat dairy and eggs.

6. I can not use the computer and talk on the phone at the same time. I can't even use google or place an order on a website and IM is completely out of the question.

7. Since joining the gym I've not only improved my body but my mind, I've now read 7 books mostly at either the gym: The Nanny Diaries, Good Omens, The Dark Materials Trilogy, Fast Food Nation, and Learning to Bow I'm currently trying to read a book about dirt.

8. I like the smell of gasoline. *shifty eyes*
