There is very little in life more rewarding than making someone you care about truly and unbelievably happy.

In October, my younger sister had suggested she wanted to surprise my Mom by coming home for Thanksgiving. My sister lives in CA and has not been home for Thanksgiving in 5 years. Thanksgiving was always a special time for my Mom because we use to always visit my grandparents, so not having her family with her was always hard on my Mom. So we bought the airline tickets secretly, plotted that I would tell my mother I desperately needed chocolate chip pancakes and had to meet her for brunch early Saturday morning, but in reality I would show up with Rebecca in tow.

Mom couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe Rebecca was here, that we had all kept it secret, that her children would all be with her.

It just makes me all warm inside thinking about it! (and it doesn't hurt that Rebecca as promised to karaoke with me XD;;; ) we're also thinking of seeing Avenue Q.

Now to sit down and work on the picture I've been trying to draw for weeks. XD;;

I agree wholeheartedly. Seeing them smile with joy makes it all worthwhile.

What a wonderful surprise for your mom! (And congratulations on keeping it a secret, because it must have been terribly hard to do.) I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving together! *hugs*

That's the best present ever.

It was incredibly hard to do. I kept wanting to say something and successfully managed to do it!

*hugs*

Thanksgiving was mostly fun, though I am so going to gain weight from my love of stuffing lol

Yes, I am a strong believer in the importance of families, so it is all good.

Hope you can continue to enjoy your time with your mom in PA. ^_^
