Irony

Wow, this sounds made up, and yet it is not. Despite the fact eBay doesn't care if one sells fakes of pins, fakes of dolls, arm warmers as SD dresses and numerous other scams, I just received an email telling me my bought at Comiket SnapexHarry non porny doujinshi has been removed from sale because it violates Warner Brothers copyright.

So when are they going to pull those Hong Kong DVDs XD;;;

It must have been a VERO request... basically, eBay removed it because WB told them to.

Yeap it was!

I'm just really surprised lol

WB prob has people working just on that. Just be careful with doujins of non-Japanese properties I guess... any more violations can get your account suspended :/

Well, after this time around I'll stick to selling HP from my website lol I was curious to see if they would sell better this way.

I'm just really surprised, since like there are so many more worse things...

like Hong Kong DVDs which actually take away Warner Brother's sales.

That's utterly ridiculous...or perhaps it's their way of telling us that Snape x Harry is actually canon? ^_^ It's not as if the doujinshi have to be based on the movies, since they were books first, and I fail to see how something that is clearly fanmade and in no way claims to be official can do anything to harm their sales.

[identity profile] rkold.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
No, and I would think doujinshi improves sales, get smore people interested. lol

But yes, now we know SnapexHarry is canon so their fans should rejoice, unless they ship other pairings. ^o^

I will try to sell later :P

Bwah? I sold a few Harry Potter djs in January without any kind of complaints. o.o;

[identity profile] rkold.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I've sold some on my website as well, it was just poor timing. I know HP doujinshi can do really well on eBay, I saw someone in England getting like $50 for one!

o_O

Wow, I thought only Disney was that vigilant about copyright.

Learn something new everyday, first eBay and then tomorrow the world LJ!

Same thing happened to one of my friends at Gaidai. Somehow, WB cought on to the doujin thing and cracked down hard. And when one of the big boys is breathing down thier neck, eBay actually pays attention. ~_~

I think for me it was poor timing. I am not a big HP fan and the 4th DVD came out that release. I was really amused though that they only pulled 1 of my 2 HP doujinshi. lol

The fun fact is that they don't do that on ebay.at (Austria) - but they DO kick yaoi articles which I could sold easely on ebay.com XD

[identity profile] rkold.livejournal.com 2006-03-21 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwww well these were yaoi. XD;; i will try again or sell privately still since I am trying to cut down on my collection. It's like 7 boxes worth not including the ones for sale o_O;
